Before you can get started out working with your SketchUp content in the Unreal Engine, you want to install the Unreal Datasmith Exporter plugin for SketchUp.

The installer routinely detects the versions of SketchUp Pro mounted on your system. Check the box for every version that you choose to be able to export via Datasmith, and click Install.

Epic releases a new version of the Unreal Datasmith Exporter plugin for SketchUp with each new release of Unreal Engine. If you change to a different model of Unreal Engine, make sure you down load and install the matching model of the plugin.

Enabling the Datasmith Exporter Plugin for SketchUp

In some cases, you may have to allow the Datasmith Exporter plugin in SketchUp before you can use it. To do this, comply with these steps:

In SketchUp, from the main menu, go to Window > Extension Manager.

In the Extension Manager window, affirm that the UnrealDatasmith plugin is enabled. If the plugin is not enabled, click on the toggle in the Enable | Disable column, then click Apply Changes.

Use the widespread Windows control panel utilities to locate and remove the Unreal Datasmith Exporter for SketchUp utility from your system.

For example, on Windows 10, you can use the Apps & features manipulate panel. Click the entry for your Datasmith exporter plugin in the list, then click Uninstall:
